A rare 19th Century Maitre 'd

A superb and rare 19th Century Maitre 'd the Rosewood frame consisting of 3 fall-front sections each having a decorative fret work front backed by a deep pink/mauve coloured silk lining and each opening forward to provide a deep drawer with removable metal lining (for Menus/wine or wine lists/booking sheets, papers or other documentation etc) the same dropping forward and opening by means of a turned wooden lever postioned to the upper side of the main frame,  the top of this Maitre D opening to reveal (replaced) green leather inset writing surface with ink and powder brass removable wells, the whole supported by a turned frame with stretchers terminating in castors.
