19th Century Portrait Miniature of a boy (William Strickland) by Thomas Birch

A delightful if not naive portrait miniature depicting a boy in a blue lace and trimmed gown with coloured background reputedly (from the good dec#scription on the revers) William Strickland, painted by Thomas Birch (American Artist) and dated 1845 the whole mounted in an oval mount and set within a papier mache frame as viewed.
