19th Century 8 day striking Wall Clock by Carter of Cavendish and Long Melford

A   good,  local, 19th century Mahogany cased  Wall Clock believed to be by George Carter of Cavendish (listed)   B. 1818 /D.1894 -  the case with partial carved decoration to the sides and with glass window inset revealing  the brass pendulum, the enamel dial with Roman numerals displaying the name "Carter"  and "Cavendish & Long Melford", the 8 day movement striking on the hour.  

This Clock was removed from  the Village Hall of Cavendish, where it had been sited for many, many years and  sold by agreement and sanction of the Parish/Village Council.  It contains interesting pencilled notes contemporaneously written to the inside of the case giving details of servicing dates etc. 

It has been sympathtically restored and the movement fully cleaned and serviced and thus gauranteed in full and good working  order.
