18th Century Long Case Clock by Thos. Pope - Rothsbury

A good 18th Century  Long Case Clock,with an 8 day movement striking on the hour and the half hour, the Oak case having fret work decoration to the hood with brass bird finials with wings outstrecthed to either side, column supports  and arched glazed door opening to a hand painted clock face bearing the name "Thos. Pope" and" Rothsbury" with  nautical and floral scenes and Roman numerals, minute markers and a second dial. The  arched door to the case has a decorative brass key escutcheon and  traditionally opens to reveal the double lead weights and pendulum.  The whole is  in very good order and condition, has good colour and patina throughout,  the movement having been fully cleaned, serviced, fully working  and gauranteed (keeps excellent time!)
