Established in 1995, Bumpstead Antiques & Interiors stock and deal in a wide and varied range of quality Antique Furniture dating from the 17th Century onwards, including Display & Side Cabinets, Dining Tables, Side & Occasional Tables, single & sets of Chairs, Sofas & Chaise Longues, Desks, Bookshelves, Chests of Drawers and Wardrobes together with a host of ancillary furniture, all complimented by a fine and diverse stock of Art and Collectables. Each piece is specifically chosen not only for its quality and condition but also for its functionality, decorative and aesthetic appeal, as well as providing excellent value for money and investment. Our aim is to provide a wide, interesting and varied range of such items to not only fit in with today's modern homes, but also to provide the sheer enjoyment and pleasure of owning such unique items.
We have two individual shops one currently situated on a select Business Centre (Blois Meadow Business Centre) in the historic and picturesque village of Steeple Bumpstead on the County borders of Cambridgeshire, Essex & Suffolk (our main shop & showrooms) and the other overlooking the Village green in the beautiful, touristy and picturesque village of Cavendish, Suffolk, this latter shop trading as 'Cavendish Antiques & Interiors'. We also trade out of various Antique Centres and Trade Warehouses in Essex, Suffolk and Nottinghamshire.
Much of our stock comes from private sources and so is "fresh to the market". Founder and Proprietor of Bumpstead Antiques, Graham Hessell who, in addition to currently being Vice Chairman, Vetting & Membership Officer of the Essex Antique Dealers Association, is our Chief Buyer and most particular in what he finds and buys, travelling the Country in search of those elusive items that have something a little extra or unusual and are generally "above the norm". In this regard, although it is becoming increasingly difficult to find such items, it is considered that there is no better time to buy quality individual Antiques and Collectables for the enjoyment and investment that they give, as our many discerning buyers, both private as well as UK and Overseas trade buyers, and Interior Designers and Decorators will agree.
Our ever changing stock of Quality Antique Furniture, Art and a diverse range of Collectables in Glass, Porcelain, Silver, Silverplate and other Metalware, is further complimented by decorative Lighting, Sculptures, Bronzes, Jewellery, Ephemera, Carpets and Objects d'vertu along with original and unusual gift ideas.
In addition to selling (and buying) quality items we also offer a full range of Restoration and Re-Upholstery services - all work being carried out by approved professional and experienced trades people, together with advice and consultation to the Private Individual and for Insurance and Estate purposes.
